Ian has significant experience gained in many sectors. Initially, Ian trained in Accountancy practice and has held senior positions in several Accountancy firms, the NHS, Training and Funding organisations, Further Education and most latterly in Private Equity. Ian is an experienced Companies House Director and has held many Board-level positions in a range of voluntary organisations. Ian is currently the Chairman of a large charity, Lincolnshire YMCA and is also Colonel Commandant of Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force
Ian's expertise centres on financial and resource planning and management, business turn-around, consultancy and corporate finance including many acquisitions and mergers, internal control, corporate governance and risk management, delivering large capital schemes and of course operational and strategic leadership.
Ian's most recent position was as Deputy CEO of the Lincoln College Group, where in 10 years Ian played a pivotal role in helping to lead this college from an OfSTED ‘Good’ college to a Grade 1 Outstanding College and specifically led the significant growth of the college to become a multi-faceted corporate group, including substantial international activity. Ian is a regular contributor and commentator on key issues affecting the FE sector.
