Female Mentor

Protocol are looking to recruit a Mentor to work in a Female further education establishment based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The aim of the Mentor role is to create one-to-one contact with the clients to ascertain from the very beginning of their journey the aspirations, experience and personal barriers for each individual jobseeker. Personal rapport is at the heart of the client/Mentor relationship, ensuring a trusting and open relationship that will last for the entirety of a jobseeker’s time with us, and beyond. The personal nature of this relationship means that the mentors has to truly understand each individual on their case load and are able to support and meet their needs, by breaking down their specific barriers to work. This of course is along with delivering on other key performance objectives and maintaining a quality driven service which continues to build in reputation among the people it supports and serves.

Key Responsibilities and Result Areas:

  • Support the client to make an ‘Action Plan’ outlining their motivation and goals
  • Regularly meet the client on a one to one basis to review the clients progress towards their desired goals
  • Use questioning techniques to facilitate the clients own thought processes in order to identify solutions and actions
  • Utilise active listening and communication skills to ensure the needs of the clients are being met within the mentoring relationship
  • Share relevant academic experiences/problems you have overcome (if appropriate)
  • Facilitate and encourage autonomous and enquiry-based learning, providing the client with the tools to find their own answers
  • Sign-post the client onto other support services should this be necessary
  • Attend the clients training to ensure that you have the appropriate understanding to support the client on their journey
  • Offer a ‘safe space’ for the client to share their academic or work related worries and concerns
  • Build mutual trust and respect
  • Responsible for achievement of all targets set by line management according to both qualitative and target driven criteria
  • Provision of timely and accurate progress reports to line managers identifying operational issues and developing sanctioned solutions
  • Developing understanding of local labour markers and working with the team to provide solutions appropriate to the local culture
  • Build successful relationships evidenced by results to act as an ambassador of the new programme on behalf of the consortium
